The storage area should be dry and well-ventilated, and prolonged exposure to direct sunlight should be avoided to prevent chassis corrosion and the degradation of plastic and rubber components.
Karts should undergo necessary cleaning and inspection before being put into storage. After use, debris such as dust, mud, and dirt should be removed from the body, chassis, and tires to prevent contaminants from entering the drivetrain or braking systems and causing wear. For fuel-powered karts, the fuel system should be checked before long-term storage to prevent fuel degradation from affecting engine performance; for electric karts, attention must be paid to the battery storage environment-avoiding temperature extremes-and maintaining the appropriate charge level as recommended.
During storage, the kart should be placed on a flat, stable surface to prevent component deformation caused by uneven stress over time. Tire pressure can be adjusted, or the kart's position shifted periodically, to minimize localized tire deformation due to sustained pressure. Additionally, the condition of various components-including the chassis, chain, braking system, and fasteners-should be inspected and maintained regularly to ensure safe and stable operation when the kart is next used.
